Completion: 2009

  • Architect: Foreside Architects, Portland, ME
  • Engineer: Summit Engineering, Lewiston, ME
  • General contractor: Herbert Construction, LLC, Lewiston, ME

  • Design, fabrication, delivery and construction.
  • 27,000 sq. ft. (180 ft. wide x 150 ft. long).
  • Hangar door: 160 ft. wide x 35 ft. high.

  • Will be used by Lufthansa to refurbish wide-body aircraft.
  • First aircraft hangar project in the U.S.
  • The building’s exterior is finished with metal cladding.

  • The building’s structure is composed of Murox® shop-fabricated load-bearing wall panels as well as conventional steel structures fabricated by Murox® and assembled directly onsite.

  • Five months from design to final construction.
  • Erection began on August 28, 2008.
