 | Solutions and services adapted to meet your specific needs
Canam Canada, which is committed to developing solutions and offering new services, has come up with a number of innovations in recent months. Canam is at your service to provide electronic addresses for technical support, new online engineering tools, updated catalogues and the electronic Canam Info-Tech bulletin. We have participated in various trade shows since the beginning of the year, including Construct Canada in Toronto, the NASCC in San Antonio, Texas, the CSCE in Calgary and the CISC in Quebec City, in order to promote our services, which can be adapted to the specific needs of building designers.
We brought our seventh engineering tool online in early August. This joist girder selection tool, which complements the selection tools found in the Specification Guide - Joist Girders, allows you to select the most economical depth, moment of inertia and real deflection of a joist girder. Other engineering tools will be launched in the coming months, including one on standard connections used for joist girders aimed at designing W column flange and HSS column brackets.
A new catalogue on cold-rolled sections will soon be published (in French only at this time), and Canam’s Joist Catalogue was updated last December (French version to follow). Visit the "Publications" section of our web site to view, download or order our catalogues.
The much-anticipated Engineering Guide on Diaphragms is now being developed and will be available at the end of 2006, and the Purlins and Girts catalogue is being updated and will be published in early 2007.
I invite you to read our Steel Joists and Joist Girders section on duct openings and our Steel Deck section on deck finishes. These are topics that generate a great deal of discussion among our product specifiers. Another article featured in this edition of Canam Info-Tech is on the popular subject of sustainable development.
Enjoy!
