Julie Gravel graduated from the Université Laval in 1995 with a degree in Civil Engineering and from the Université de Sherbrooke in 1998 with a Master’s degree in Applied Sciences specializing in cement concrete technology. She began her career as a project engineer for a private laboratory, where she was responsible for the quality control of construction project materials, carried out expert analyses and special mandates on cement concrete and wrote technical specifications. Julie joined Canam in the summer of 2000 as a member of the joist design team at the St. Gédéon plant. After a number of years, she specialized in the design of joists and the management of joist projects for Murox buildings. In August 2007, Julie joined Canam Group’s engineering software development team as an application specialist. In this role, she is responsible for developing online engineering tools, assisting with the development of the DESGO 3 in-house joist design software and providing technical support to the software development teams within the company’s various business units.
