Canam Canada’s Project of the QuarterProject of the Quarter: Alphonse-Desjardins Sports Complex wins top honours

The Alphonse-Desjardins Sports Complex in Trois Rivières, Quebec, has earned Canam Canada's Project of the Quarter award for the third quarter of 2007. This project, covering a surface area of 10,030 m2 (108,000 sq. ft.), consists of over 1,100 tons of joists, purlins, girts and steel deck. Canam fabricated the longest joists of its history for this project, consisting of 39 complex 253-foot bowstring joists. The components were fabricated at the St. Gédéon de Beauce and Boucherville plants and delivered between June and August of 2007. The customer, steel fabricator Quirion Métal Inc. of Beauceville, QC, will receive a photograph of the project as an expression of Canam’s appreciation.
