Canam joist and steel deck components for a new arena in Torbay, NL

The new municipal arena that is being built in the town of Torbay, Newfoundland and Labrador, will be erected using joists and steel deck fabricated by the Canam Canada business unit. The building will have a total surface area of 41,850 sq. ft (3,890 m²).

Some 260 tons of steel components will be fabricated at the St. Gédéon and Boucherville plants in Quebec. Deliveries to the worksite are slated to begin in November.

This contract was awarded to Canam by Skyway Steel Ltd, in St. John's.
