A fully integrated approach

Murox® is the first company in North America that designs, fabricates and erects building envelope systems to offer integrated, cost-effective solutions for high energy performance buildings.

Objective of high energy performance

Buildings use 40% of the energy consumed annually in North America and are responsible for an equal proportion of GHG emissions.

Our high energy performance solutions can considerably lower GHG emissions directly caused by a building’s heating, cooling and lighting systems.

Advantages for building owners

A win-win construction solution:

  • 69% more energy-efficient*
  • No GHG emissions
  • ROI in less than 5 years
Cost-effective
Our high energy performance solutions are cost-effective. It will only take a short time before the additional investment needed to fit your building with energy-efficient features pays for itself.

Comfort
Murox® buildings provide increased comfort by optimizing natural lighting, heating and cooling systems, which in turn increase the productivity of the building’s occupants.

Building envelope

The shop-fabricated, high thermal resistance building envelope (certified R-20) eliminates air infiltrations and thermal bridges.

The insulation in Murox® wall panels is applied evenly and thermal barriers keep heat inside the buildingShop-fabricated under controlled conditions

Other possible components

Windows and skylights
A large number of low-emissivity windows and skylights maximize the use of natural light while optimizing energy conservation.
Lighting
Newly developed fluorescent lighting use little energy and produce minimal heat.

Geothermal system – Heat pump
Solar energy absorbed by the earth is used to feed the building’s heating and cooling systems.
Ventilated Thermal Panels (solar heat collector)
The Ventilated Thermal Panel (VTP) System is an efficient, cost-effective solution that uses solar energy to preheat the air used to heat the building.

Murox® expertise
Since 1978, the Murox® team has designed, fabricated and built close to 2,000 industrial, commercial and institutional buildings in North America, representing a total surface area of 43,055,472 sq. ft. (4,000,000 m2).

Feasibility study
Murox® will conduct a feasibility study to determine the cost-effectiveness of different energy-efficient components and prepare the paperwork necessary to obtain grants.

LEED® certification

Because of its high energy efficiency, the Murox® building envelope system can account for almost 40% of the credits needed to obtain the LEED® Silver certification and 30% of those needed for Gold certification. Murox® also has a LEED® accredited professional on its team.

Building design
With the Murox® design-fabrication-build formula, our team oversees all technical aspects of the building and ensures that the design is optimized according to its projected use.

Certifications and accreditations
Our team

The Murox® technical team, which includes engineers, architects, technicians and experienced project managers, can propose high energy performance solutions that are both effective and economical.
