The Deep-Dek® system provides support for gravity loads between the joists and/or beams. Once installed, the deck can also be used as a horizontal brace and therefore act as a diaphragm for lateral loads.
Deep-Dek® enables architects and engineers to have increased creative design options and greater flexibility than with standard metal decks since it fulfills structural, acoustical and aesthetic needs. Deep-Dek® allows a design team to specify a highly functional and versatile building element that will also yield construction savings on all roof and floor system projects.
Roof deck
Deep-Dek® is a single-cell (hat) unit that provides a support surface for various types of roofing materials. It can be used as a secondary structural member to provide for lateral force distribution to the structure’s vertical force resisting systems. Deep-Dek® produces a deep-fluted look for exceptional underside aesthetics.
Deep-Dek® is available in a 304.8 mm (12”) cover width. It is available in four steel gauge thicknesses (see load tables), a variety of galvanized coating weights and an array of paint systems, all suited to specific project performance specifications.
Characteristics:
- Wind resistance, snow loads, seismic loads, etc.
- Open, unobstructed building ceiling environments
- Exceptional aesthetics
- Dek-Knek® self-aligning Sidelap Attachment System that conceals screws
- Acoustical options (Figures 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6).
