Research and Development The research and development that goes into new products and production processes exemplifies our commitment to fabricating quality products that exceed our customers’ expectations. In recent years, we have introduced several leading-edge products thanks to the efforts of our research and development team or exclusive agreements concluded with our business partners. Here are a few examples.
		Composite column for highrise construction Canam Group Inc. has developed a composite column for highrise construction that reduces the cost of using multi-story steel columns by 50%. This innovative column was developed by Richard B. Vincent and is patented in the United States and internationally.
		Canam Developed by Canam, Elocones are elongated nuts used in the field to correct anchor rods that have insufficient projection. This product, which was first developed for the New England market in early 2004, has become very popular and is in high demand. The new publication on this product can be downloaded in PDF format or a printed version can be ordered under Publications (Commercial).
		Specialized products Murox Over the years, Murox has developed a number of specialized applications that have the same design, fabrication quality and speedy installation advantages as its standard system. MuroxEnergy® Murox offers a turnkey solution that integrates energy-saving and renewable-energy source technologies into its high-performance building envelope system. This system can generate savings of up to 60% in heating costs and 30% in air conditioning costs.
		Murox - Brick finish This finish uses real thin clay brick which provides the elegance and durability of conventional brick. It can be used on both load-bearing or curtain walls for the construction of new buildings or the restoration of existing buildings.
		Structal-Heavy Steel Construction Structal-Heavy Steel Construction, in May 2007, renewed a five-year agreement with RAD Technology LLC of Pembroke Pines, Florida, that conferred exclusive worldwide fabrication rights for portable, modular oncology clinics that use PRO SystemTM (Portable Radiation Oncology System) technology.
		Hambro The Hambro D510 joist, intended for the residential market, was developed after four years of research. This joist offers many advantages, not to mention that the system was developed with modular shoes, which are currently protected by a patent pending.
