Richard B. Vincent - Biographical Notes


		Richard B. Vincent Vice President, Research & Development, Canam Group Inc.

Richard Vincent obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with a major in Structures, from McGill University in 1968 and immediately joined Marshall Steel. He became chief engineer and manager of its Structural Division with corporate responsibilities for estimation, sales, project management, drafting, engineering and erection planning. Mr. Vincent has been with Canam Group in his current position since 1988, involved in the design of steel buildings and bridges and the planning of erection methods for major projects. Mr. Vincent is a member of the following North American technical committees: chairman of the Technical Committee on Steel Structures for Buildings for CSA Standard S16.1-01 "Limit States Design of Steel Structures"; vice-chairman of the Technical Sub-Committee on Structural Steel for CSA Standard S6-00 "Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code"; member of the Technical Committee on Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members for CSA Standard S136-01 "North American Specification for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members"; and member of the CSA Strategic Steering Committee on Structures.
