Canam Canada secures two contracts for Research in Motion of Ontario

Canam Canada has signed two contracts with steel fabricator ACL Steel Ltd. to fabricate joists for the construction of two office towers, one in Waterloo and the other in Mississauga, Ontario. The first office tower, covering 186,000 square feet (14,585 m²), and the second, covering 153,000 square feet (14,214 m²), will consist of joists totaling 585 and 545 tons respectively. These two buildings will house Research In Motion (RIM) employees.

The steel joists will be fabricated in Canam’s Mississauga plant and delivered to the construction sites in May and June 2008. Technyx, a business unit of Canam Group, will be collaborating on this project.
