Canam Canada confers an honourable mention to the Pluritec - IMS consortium

Canam Canada recently conferred an honourable mention to the Pluritec Ltd. - IMS consortium for its outstanding collaboration in the construction of the Alphonse-Desjardins Sports Complex in Trois-Rivières. Canam awarded the honourable mention last July 8 to two consortium engineers, Janik Gagné and Eugénie Caron, during a brief ceremony that took place at the Bar Le Lounge, which is located in the sports complex.

Canam fabricated over 1,100 tons of long-span bowstring joists and related components in the scope of this project, which was completed in 2007. The 253-ft. (77.1-metre) joists were fabricated in three sections with assembly on site and remain the longest joists ever fabricated by Canam Canada.

Canam Canada confers an honourable mention three times per year to a consulting engineering firm that resolves a complex problem at the project design stage while making optimum use of Canam products and/or solutions. The mention is associated with the publication of Canam Info-Tech, an electronic bulletin that is sent triennially to over 2,000 Canadian engineers and architects. For more information on Canam Info-Tech, please visit the Technical Publications section of the Canam Canada web site at www.canam.ws.
